REAL Broker's Stock Program - Fully Explained (for 2025)
6 Ways to Earn Stock
Real Broker is a publicly traded company, (NASDAQ: REAX) and offers generous stock award programs to its agents.
Agents can earn and purchase stock 6 different ways.
- Stock Purchase Plan
- SPP Bonus Incentives
- Stock Award for Capping
- Elite Agent Production Award
- Elite Agent Cultural Award
- Attracting Shares

1. Stock Purchase Plan (SPP)
All agents can automatically purchase stock with a percentage of their commissions.
The amount you purchase with each commission is different depending if you have capped or not.
Pre-cap - 5% of your net commission will be set aside to purchase stock.
Post Cap - 10% of your net commission will be set aside to purchase stock
In both cases, there is a maximum contribution which is as follows. Once the maximum contribution is hit, Real can not invest your commission income into the stock anymore.
The limits for these are:
- Pre Cap - $3,400
- Post Cap - $15,000
With that said, you can still purchase the stock on your own via any public stock trading platform.
Real limits this because they issue you a bonus share of stock with the Stock Purchase Plan (as outlined in #2 below) and have to limit how much they can allocate to Stock Purchase Bonuses.
Note: All stocks purchased through the Stock Purchase Plan, are RSUs (Restricted Stock Units) and must vest for one (1) year before you can sell them.

Maximum Contribution Per Year - An Example
To further understand this maximum contribution concept, let's look at exactly how much GCI you need to earn to max out Real's Bonus Contributions.
So, let's assume you have the full $12,000 cap.
Pre-Cap - You can contribute 5% of your GCI to Stock Purchase.
Your cap is $12,000, so in order to cap you need to make $80,000 of commission, pay Real, 15% of that, ($80,000 * 15% = $12,000), so your net GCI is $80,000* 85% = $68,000.
This your total earnings pre-cap =$68,000.
From this $68,000, you will contribute 5% to the stock program
$68,000 * 5% = $3,400
Real will bonus you 10% on your pre-cap stock purchase.
$3,400 * 10% = $340
For a total pre cap stock purchase of $3,740 worth of stock.
Now post-cap - there is a max contribution of $15,000. And because we are contribution 10% of earnings post cap, that means:
$15,000 / 10% = $150,000 of net commission.
So, we contribute our $15,000 and Real awards a bonus contribution of 20%.
$15,000 * 20% = $3,000
For a total post cap contribution of $18,000.
This gives us a total:
Our contribution - $18,400
Real's Stock Bonus - $3,340
Total Stock Purchase - $21,740
Real's Contribution Percentage = 15.4%
Now here is what I want you to really pay attention to:
Your first $80k in revenue yields you $3,740
Your next $150k in revenue yields you $18,000 in stock.
So, to fully maximize the bonus stock and stock purchase each year you need to earn $230k in Gross Commission.
And clearly, to maximize the stock contributions, the bulks comes from the earnings of $80k to $230k.
So if you're hitting these numbers each year, I would encourage to really think about how this stock program can add significant wealth each year.
And, this does not even factor in the Elite Agent status, which awards an additional $16,000 worth of stock, which we will talk about next.
2. SPP Bonus Incentives
Real rewards agents for participating in the Stock Purchase Program by awarding a percentage bonus of shares. The percentage differs whether you have capped or not.
PRE-CAP: Real gives you a 10% bonus in shares (RSUs)
POST-CAP: Real gives you a 20% bonus in shares (RSUs)
Pre-cap Example
So, let's say you earn a net commission of $10,000.
5% will be automatically set aside to purchase the stock which amounts to $500.
Additionally, Real will provide an additional 10% stock which is calculated as follows:
Your $500 contribution * 10% = $50 additional stock bonus from Real.
So your total stock purchase will be for $550.
And let's say the stock is trading for $4.00 per share, you will be purchasing 137 shares
Post Cap Example
Now, let's look at that same $10,000 commission but as a Post Cap example.
$10,000 new commission * 10% automatic stock purchase = $1,000
Real's SPP Bonus Contribution post -cap is 20% so:
$1,000 * 20% = $200
For a total stock purchase of $1,200.
And again let's assume the stock is trading for $4.00 per share, you will be awarded with 300 shares.
3. Stock Award for Capping
Agents are rewarded with stocks when they reach the annual cap paid to Real.
The award amount differs depending on what your cap is:
$12k Cap - 150 Shares
$6k Cap - 75 Shares
$4k Cap - 50 Shares
Like the Stock Purchase Program, all stocks in this program are RSUs (restricted share units) and must vest before they can be traded or sold. The vesting period for these RSUs is 3 period (not 1 year like the RSUs in the Stock Purchase Program)
4. Elite Agent Production Award
Top earning agents are also eligible for a $16k stock award and transaction fees are reduced down to $129/ transaction.
To achieve Elite Agent Status you must do one of the following in a single anniversary year:
You pay Real $6k in post-cap transaction fees.
You close more than $500k GCI and close 10 transactions of $1M in value or greater.
Let's look at what it really takes to do this in each example:
So we know it takes $80k of GCI to Cap,
then we have to pay a total of $6,000 in post-cap transaction fees.
Post-cap transaction fees are $129/transaction.
So, $6,000/$129 = 46.5 transactions. Let's call it 47.
Ok, so now this is where the variables come in.
What is your GCI per transaction?
Let's say avg home - $500,000
Avg commission - 2.5%
Avg GCI per transaction = $12,500
So, $12,500 * 47 transactions = $587,500
And total sales of $29,375,000.
Option 2 is simpler:
$500k GCI and close 10 transactions of $1M or greater.
Ok, I hope this helps you understand how realistic Elite Agent Status is for you. It's certainly a high bar, that comes with a great reward.
5. Elite Agent Cultural Award
Agents who cap are also eligible for an additional $8k of RSUs by giving back to the greater community at Real by teaching monthly in the Real Academy.
Again these RSUs are on a 3 year vesting schedule and can not be traded or sold until the 3 year period has passed.
6. Attracting Shares
Another way to earn shares is by sponsoring another agent into the company. Once that agent joins and earns their first qualifying transaction (minimum GCI $2,000), you will earn a stock award for bringing this agent into the company.
Again all shares in this program are RSUs and have a 3 year vesting period before they can be sold or traded.
$12k cap - 75 shares
$6k cap - 35 shares
$4k cap - 25 shares
Total Possible Production Rewards
Speaking of the reward, let's dig into it so we can really understand it.
Pre Cap Earnings
Stock Purchase Plan - $3,400
Bonus Incentives - $340
Capping Award - 150 shares (@4.00/per share = $600 value)
Total Pre-cap Earnings - $4,340
Post Cap Earnings
Stock Purchase Plan - $15,000
Bonus Incentives - $3000
Total Post Cap Earnings - $18,000
Pre & Post Cap Subtotal - $22,340
Elite Agent Earnings
Production Award - $16,000
Cultural Award - $8,000
Total Elite Agent Awards - $24,000
Total Stock Value - $46,340
Average share price of $4.00/share
Total Shares earned - 11,585 Shares of Stock
And just for fun, let's say you brought 5 people into the company
75 shares per person = 375 shares
$1,500 in stock
So. new total
$47,840 in stock,
11,960 shares.
Option 1 - $587,500 (post cap GCI + $80,00 pre-cap GCI)
= $667,500 GCI
Earns you:
$16,000 stock award for elite agent
$8,000 cultural award for teaching
$24,000 total elite agent award
plus the previous awards, and let's assume you have enrolled in the stock purchase program.
Cap award - 150 shares (@$4.00/share = $600)
Total Stock Purchase - $18,000
Stock Purchase Plan Bonuses - $3,340
So, if you hit elite agent status and participate in all the programs and bonuses, you can be end the year with:
$45,940 worth of Stock
And at an example price of: $4.00/share
That is 11,485 shares of Real Stock that is working for you year after year.
Imagine if the stock increases by 5% each year. Within 10 years it will be worth $6.51.
So your investment this year of $45,940 would be worth - $74,831.
Not bad, right?
Now imagine contributing this amount every year for 10 years?
Of course, Real could and probably will change their Stock award plan in future years. We don't know exactly how or when they will change it, but we can expect to change. We know they want to continue to reward their agents, so as in years past when they have made their changes, so do so as little and infrequently as possible.
